Simon Ville

Professor of Economic History at CEU San Pablo University (Madrid). Leading
research on analysing the determinants of historical Spanish emigration, the
international labour market in the age of mass migration, the effects of immigration and
convergence and integration of markets in a long-term perspective.
Publications in the most important economic history journals: Journal of Economic
History, Economic History Review, Explorations in Economic History and Cliometrica.
Visiting researcher at Georgetown University (USA), Oxford University and London
School of Economics.

From 2013 to 2019, Editor-in-chief of Revista de Historia Económica /Journal of Iberian
and Latin American Economic History. Former member of the Board of Trustees of the
Spanish Economic History Association and the European Historical Economics Society.
Member of the Executive Council of the International Economic History Association
since 2018.
