Dan Bogart
University of California at Irvine, USADan Bogart is a Professor of Economics at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). He received a B.S in Economics, a B.A. in History, and a B.A. in Math from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in 1998 and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2003. Dan’s research interests are in economic history, urban economics, economic growth, and political economy. His specialty is identifying the political and economic origins of transportation infrastructure and their impacts across historical contexts. His work is published in leading academic journals, including the Economic Journal, the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy, the Journal of Economic History, Journal of Urban Economics, the Economic History Review. He has received research funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation, the Leverhulme Trust, and others. Dan’s teaches various economics courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, with a specialty in economic history and upper division writing.
