Alexandre Macchione Saes
University of Sao Paolo, BrazilAlexandre Macchione Saes is a professor in the Department of Economics and the Graduate Program in Economic History at USP. He holds a degree in Social Sciences from UNESP/Fclar (2003) and a Ph.D. in Economic History from the Institute of Economics at Unicamp (2008). He teaches courses on Economic History and Economic Development of Brazil in the Department of Economics, and his research focuses on the history of the Brazilian electricity sector, Brazilian economic thought, and the methodology and teaching of economic history. He served as President of the Brazilian Association of Researchers in Economic History – ABPHE (2015-17), Vice Director of the Guita and José Mindlin Brazilian Library – BBM/USP (2017-2020), and was the Coordinator of the Economics Program at FEA/USP (2017-2020). He is currently the Director of the Guita and José Mindlin Brazilian Library (2022- ) and a CNPq Research Productivity Fellow.
